nepali coinage

Nepali coinage for Tibet: in the 16th to the 18th century the Nepali kingdoms of Kathmandu, Bhatgaon and Patan as well as later the Shah dynasty minted the coins for Tibet.

Chinese issues

Sichuanese trade Rupees
In Tibet as well as in the Indian, Burmese, Chinese (Sichuan and Yunnan) border areas the British Indian Rupee was used for trade. The Chinese answer to repel the Indian Rupee was the Sichuan Rupee, a coin very similar in silver weight, quality and design.

kar sho sang coinage

Kar, sho and sang coinage since 1909. After the collapse of theQing Dynastie, when Tibet and Mongolia considered their relation with the Qing emperors as terminated and independace was officially declared a decimal system for Tibetan coinage was introduced.
